Is SpinSuccess a Scam?
First of all, what is SpinSuccess?
According to their website, SpinSuccess is a search engine submission service specialized in “promoting top earning affiliate web sites” that guarantees that they can do the same for you “no matter what type of web site that you use for your business“.
Here is one of their first statements:
“Here at SpinSuccess, we have been helping our clients gain staggering amounts of search engine exposure since December of 1999.”
If you check WhoIs database you find out that SpinSuccess.com has been created on March 2004. Oops!
One of their first promises is that “Our team will first manually submit your site to the top 15 search engines“. What exactly are these top 15 search engines in their opinon it’s not very clear. However, they use some logos on their website and you may suppose that the logos belongs to these top 15 search engine.
Let’s take a look at some of the logos:
1) DMOZ – this is not a search engine but a directory. More than this, your affiliate website will never be accepted in this directory. Read here DMOZ policy.
2) Altavista – this is finally a search engine but … Altavista does not have its database of websites but use Yahoo!’s database. So … no one can submit your website to Altavista. Check here and see for yourself.
3-4) Lycos & Hotbot – Hotbot’s Help page states very clear that “Lycos does not have a website submission form for Lycos Search or HotBot“. No one can submit your website to Hotbot or Lycos …
5) AOL – AOL uses Google, no one can submit your website to AOL.
6) About.com – is not a search engine
No more comments … but a final remark …
SpinSuccess also states that “in order to ensure indexing, your site must be submitted to the major search engines by hand“.
Sorry, but that’s a lie. There is nothing wrong to submit your website by hand to the major search engines, but this is NOT a must for ensuring indexing of your website.
Get a free blog hosted by WordPress, post a few posts for a couple of days and you’ll see that your website will be indexed by Google very soon if your website’s link is inserted in the posts of your blog. Or register with a forum having a high traffic – like Warrior Forum – setup your signature so that to contain your website’s URL, post a few comments on the forum and within a few days your website is indexed by Google. Without ANYONE submitting your website “to the major search engines by hand”.
Now you decide what is the answer to the question from the title of this article …
Usually when there is something wrong with a company or program, the people immediatelly start screaming SCAM! Well, in the real world there are more colors than black and white. That’s why I really cannot say that SpinSuccess is a scam. However, what it’s very clear is that they don’t know what they are talking about … or … they mislead the visitors in order to make them buy (not very nice marketing technique anyway).

Great Article on Spin Success!!
I have know for awhile now that they are a SCAM….Check this out! Have you seen all their ads out there where a lady says she had made so much money by advertising her website with Spin Success, it is impossible to speak with these so called successful marketers, I have tried with the 2-3 that I have come across! Im 99% sure these ladys work for the company! Who would post Ads telling everyone how great this Advertising source is without an affiliate link where they can make a commission for telling everyone how great this source is!
Keep up your research and I’m sure you will agree…it’s a SCAM that is taking a lot of peoples money, they should be reported.
Kevin
Do you mean “Spin Submit” ?
If so they sure scammed me.
Regards,
Albert
Hi Albert,
I mean SpinSuccess.com
SpinSubmit.com seems to be the same thing because their website is redirected to SpinSuccess.com
I have been networking for the past 15 years and remember seeing this company back in 2000 They were called Pro Submit back then. I believe they merged or acquired this company into Spin Submit. These days they go by Spin Success. So they definitely have been around for close to 10 years, just under different names.
I haven’t personally tried their service so I cannot comment on the effectiveness but I do have some downline members in Shaklee using them and surprisingly they have nothing but great things to say about them. I also know the owner of a popular traffic exchange that has feedback about the traffic volume/quality.
If people are happy with the service and keep paying for it, as they are a subscription service, I would hardly say they are a scam.
Anton
Anton,
1) How do you know that they were called Pro Submit when a visitor of their website CANNOT find this information? Are you working for them?
2) What about their promises no one can keep, such as submitting your website to search engines that don’t accept submissions and so on?
3) The major search engines index your website anyway, without any one submitting it. For example, it’s enough to mention in my post a brand new website and after a few days you’ll find it indexed by Google … Only a newbie can be happy to pay for freebies …
I was in a business called “Buddy Tags” back in 2000 and Pro Submit was listed on their recommend resource page. I saw them here and there for years after that and remembering seeing a forwarding page announcing they were now “Spin Submit” I as well cannot find any information on Pro Submit.
I remember when Overture was actually “Goto” One cannot find that information on the Overture site.
No, I am not “working for them.”
I agree with you on the logos, they should not be displayed if they are not actually submitting to the search engine the logo resembles. They don’t really say on the site what exact search engines they actually submit to. I would assume the logo banner display is for aesthetics.
I believe they are meaning the only way to get listed on the major search engines by submitting is by hand submitting (opposed to automated submissions) which I believe is true. After all, they are a “submission service.”
1on40 (http://www.1on40.com/) is another submission service that has popped up recently and they have the same logos on the top of their page.
If anything I would say they are sketchy:
“Use 1on40′s 100% FREE submission service and YOUR site will be NUMBER ONE on Google, Yahoo and 38 other TOP search engines for FREE.”
Anton
Anton, I already explained you that “the only way to get listed on the major search engines is by hand submissions” it’s a BIG LIE. Any SEO newbie knows this!
As for 1on40 … Number one on Google?
Google says that “No one can guarantee a No. 1 ranking on Google”.
Read here: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=35291
Who lies? Sure, Google doesn’t know anything about Google, right?
Come on, Anton, these programs are smelling from miles … You have to really be a newbie to believe them.
The problem is not that someone is newbie in a certain field, the problem is when a newbie gets evidences in front of him and still he doesn’t want to see them …
By the way, I’ve skipped that part with the logos. What do you mean by being placed there for aesthetics? This is clearly misleading the customers and is against the FTC guidelines. You know the guidelines I am talking about, don’t you?
Is like in a shoe shop you’re showing a lot of shoes only for aesthetics (when in fact you’re NOT allowed to sell those shoes). This is misleading the customers and is not quite legal!
I googled “submission service” and the first 2 sponsored results I clicked on where:
http://www.getguaranteedvisitors.com/
http://www.trafficxs.com/platinum.htm
Both have images of search engines you question in your initial post.
I’m not saying its right, its just out there and personally I would ask what search engines they submit to or try to find the list on the site before purchasing.
My opinion is kind off biased because of the 3 people that have given me positive feedback on Spin Success. If it works and you hare happy with it, keep using it I say!
BUT like anything on the net, do your research first.
I’m done
Love the blog, keep on reviewing traffic sources.. Its definitely interesting.
Anton

I am a member of lawn chair millionaire (LCM). I received an e-mail to check out Spin Success. I did. Before I part with my cash I always do a little research my self. I found that the person who sent me the e-mail claimed they had got lots of sign ups in LCM using Spin Success. Being a member of LCM my self I checked the top sales for the month, this person had not even made one sale as they had claimed using Spin Success or anything else for that matter.
Thats my piece of info. Hope it helps.
Anyone was this around?

I have a website http://www.spinsuccess.com that I need testimonials for. I am willing to pay $10 per testimonial with a bonus of up to another $10 based on the quality and my satisfaction of your work.
Step 1 – Visit http://www.spinsuccess.com to see the site you will be leaving a testimonial for.
Step 2 – Prepare your testimonial. Must sound natural and not “read” so do it on the fly. You are a member of one of the following. GDI, Success University, Traffic Oasis, Pay it Forward 4 Profits or SFI. Your testimonial will state how great the spinsuccess service has been for your website and how you have had success making money with the business opportunity part of it.
For example: “Hi there, my name is Joe Shmoe from Atlanta GA and I just wanted to call in and say how happy I am with SpinSuccess. They have gotten a tonne of quality traffic to my site via the search engines. I also was able to make around $1400 per month promoting SpinSuccess to people on the net. Thanks alot SpinSuccess!”
Your ability to be creative and come up with a ground sounding testimonial will determine how much of a bonus I will pay you ontop of the $10.
No bidding necessary, click on http://members.InstantAudio.com/st1.asp?c=562942&P=SpinSuccess to get started and email me at andrew@lucidic.com when done. I will review your job and pay you via paypal.

Not very ethical, huh?
Great post, Pepe.
People should understand that if they don’t play according to the rules, sooner or later their tricks will be revealed.
Thank you for your contribution for a better internet!
Yikes!! Great find, Pepe. My God. Good thing I did research first.
hey guys, I have been a member of ss for 3 months now and there has been absolutely nothing generated out of this submission service, not even unpaid signups!!!! after reading this post I can rest assure that ss is yet another scam. fortunately i have gotten enough below me to pay for the service so I havent’ lost any money but I feel horrible about referring people to the site. are all these people promoting just liars? I signed under a woman who claims to use it for 3 affiliate sites but I googled her and found nothing on her, after some research I think it is an alias name. I just can’t believe this, what a shame!!!
I am not using them but John Hostetler is and endorses and he has a successful membership site that I am part of. Seems like for $30 if u do not like the service cancel! They also offer ppc credits monthly so even if it does not work for you you are not out of your life savings. Not promoting it as I said do not use it because my services are already established but there are tons of services smoking people online for WAY MORE than $30
Just my opinion( btw, I lost more than $30 on adwords in 2 hours have you?)
Dean, I wonder if you read the post you’re commenting on!
It did NOT say that the services they actually provide are bad or good. Read the post NOW!
The post in fact says that
1) they are NOT professionals and that’s why they don’t understand very well what they are saying
or
2) they are professionals who MISLEAD their customers by stating different FALSE statements such as the one that says that you must submit manually your website to the search engines in order to be indexed.
It’s not about the fact that you can get your money back.
It’s not about what OTHERS are saying.
It’s about something anyone can see on their website.
Basically, this is like a certain company “X” says that 1+1=4, then I am writing a review saying that this is false and now you’re coming here saying that a certain “Y” endorses the company “X” and that’s why I am wrong and 1+1=4. How is this? Funny, right?
I purchased a subscription from ss on 8-8-08 and did not get any visitors, so I wrote them to complain.
They wrote back,
Please allow time for your listings to propagate.
Once we submit your site to the 100,000 search engines your site will get listed according to the listing time frames of each search engine. The smaller ones list new websites in at little as 24 hours while the medium/large search engines can take up to a few weeks.
Thousands upon thousands of sites are submitted each day which can cause a delay in listing time. Please allow time for your listings to propogate.

How many reading this believe there are 100,000 search engines?
I wrote them this back:
I don’t want to use your service becasue if I do, you can then say, “Oh sure, after he used our ppc credits, then he wants to cancel.
The idia that sold me on ss was that fact that you were going to drive traffic to my site, not me do it with ppc.
I was told that you had already submitted my site, but got zilch.
If you want to suspend any additional automatic withdrawls for 30 days in order to give you a chance to prove to my satisfaction, that you are for real, I will agreee to wait and see for another 30 days.
If you decline my offer, just let me know and credit my credit card and that will end our business relationship..
Thanks,
Jim Stiner.
They wrote me back:
Hi there,
Your account has been canceled. Please note there are no refunds issued on submissions already run. Please consider us again in the future!

I get a lot of emails ads from some list sites I am a member at. A certain Rosalind Archer (they also use the name Tabitha Grant , another alias I figure) …send a lot of ads for Spin-Success.com but use spin-success.net as the link. The senders id is lucidic….check that out and you will find this name popping up….Andrew Christiansen from Red Deer Alberta, who owns the site with his buddy who’s name I forget….anyhow the whole thing smells like shi* to me
Hi everyone,
I have been promoting Spin Success for quite sometime now and have generated a ton of enrollees by any which way I can and Spin Success allows me to do just that. I am all about making money. Join me!
I tried Spin Success for 7 months and never got any results. I promoted GDI for 3 months and never got visitors, leave aside sign ups. Then I promoted Spin Success on Spin Success for 4 months and the results were same i.e. no visitors. The only visits I could see on the hit log pages were from their expired domains. I took up with them a number of times and each time I got their standard reply that allow more time for the site to propagate. I could get 3 sign ups in my SS down line through my own promotions. I finally decided to quit because I stopped getting commissions also as two of my down line members became defaulters as their credit cards declined payments and the third member quit, as per the information received from SS. In my opinion it is a worthless program and one should not waste time money by joining it.
At last – somewhere, where the truth about SpinSuccess is told…
I could add my story about SpinSuccess here – but it is the same as everyone’s- (in 4 months- No hits No sign-ups!) – total WASTE of hard-earned money.
To Rosalind Archer, et al – Come off it – SpinSuccess does not get you the sign-ups! – you get THEM the sign-ups!
For goodness sake – why does SpinSuccess work so well for you? (as you claim) when (read the rest of this forum- and others) paying the same money it clearly does NOT work for others…??? Do you sleep well at night??
I agree, total waste of time and money. I submitted a site with my own unique domain name and hosting, which should help with search engines. I had hit tracking on it, as well as some google adsense, and their counts disagreed (adsense was showing less visitors).
This leads me to believe that about 5-10 “vistors” a day I was getting, were either computer generated, or pop-under, or some other bogus visitors.
Needless to say, I never got a single opt-in, out of supposed few hundreds of visitors over the 3 months I was with them, whereas that page was converting at above 10% when advertised to real audience throu PPC etc.
I think their “business model” is stalling people to stay for a few months, telling them it takes time to see results. Those who make a few referrals might stick for longer (if they don’t have a conscience).
As for Tabatha Grant and Rosalind Archer, they are either unscrupulous referral junkies, or just aliases for the services owner.
Did you notice that as soon as a new popular program launches, these 2 “ladies” claim within days they got dozens of sign ups in it, with this service?
Doesn’t it take at least a few weeks to see results?
Also, some sign ups claims on the pitch page of the program are suspicipus. Take GDI for example..The service owner (Lucidic Inc.) was on GDI leaderboards 2 years ago, supposedly using this service..Why is he nowhere to be seen on GDI leaderboards since?
Anyways, the evidence is overwhelming. This is a bogus service, and you’re better off investing into some real, proven advertising methods.
I found this very enlightening, because I was considering a membership in the above mentioned. I will not. Thanks to your honest input everyone. A great help.
Thomas
I was considering Spin Success also….after reading the comments here I consider myself lucky to have run across this website first.
Thanks for the heads up.
Thanks for the info I had my credit card in hand. Thank God I decided to research this first .
Hi!
Thanks guys for your comments, its really help.
Thanks.
Hello!
I wish I had seen this before, need I say that I signed up with SpinSuccess and walla nothing is happening. I thank you guy´s for the information and now I am off to cancel.
And by the way I was scamed into this by the one and only Rosalind Archer, and she send me an email so spinSuccess isn´t doing it for her, she is doing it for SpinSuccess.
Thanks again
Just wanted to let you know i am in the process getting my website turned on and I was also getting ready to use Spin Success. But Iam also glad i had a chance to see this site and get everyones input. I myself dont have money to throw away for something that is not working and that is useless. I work to hard for my money and can sure put it to better use. Keep up the good work.
Thanks again
Hi folks,
I signed yesterday and already regret it. Will be cancelling today though. My bad, never did the research, I saw traffic and got out my cc.
Ok, now that that is out of the way, there are so many scams out there and I am a newbie, what are good ways for effective advertising out there? I mean incredible adverting?
I am a social networking expert and as far as traffic generation goes, its overrated big time!
Look forward to a response,
Thanks,
Dominic
Hi Dominic,
Honestly there is NO incredible advertising for a newbie. You need first to learn and get some experience and only then open your wallet. Until then my advice is to focus on free advertising. Some examples of free advertising:
1. Post on forums and setup your signature.
2. Write articles and submit them to articles directories.
3. Comment on other people blogs
4. Setup your own blog.
Hi Admin,
I am online since 1998, I still consider myself a newbie!! Things change so fast on the internet. Free advertising is only a hobbie and not for people who wish to make full time incomes from home. I have been doing free advertising for years..does it generate traffic..yes to some degree but very little.
The only real way to get good advertising in my opinion is to pay for it but you need to sift through the right ones and this can only come through trial and error unless you are lucky enough to know somebody personally that is succeeding online of which I don’t.
There are scams on everyside of you these days, people have become so greedy for a piece of paper that is worth nothing, it’s sickening. Respect has gone out the window entirely and most of these supposed successful entrepeneurs are nothing more than polished wanna bees with little or no money themselves. It’s tough out for newbies who are trying to make honest money.
I extend my apologies for going off topic..lol, I tend to ramble a bit. If I do find some good marketing solutions I will let the forum know for certain.
Thanks for the response admin,
Dominic
Hey, Dominic, my reply was addressed to a REAL newbie, not to a person who is online since 1998
A newbie doesn’t know what to do and how to do. That’s why it’s better to try free advertising. Even if the results are not very good, she/he doesn’t waste his/her money while gets some traffic and learns the basics. If you’re online since 1998, then it’s not your case and you’re not a newbie
Of course that the only way to get good advertising is to pay for it. But if you’re a real newbie and don’t know anything, you only throw away the money. That’s why my initial advice
Best wishes,
Adrian
Hi Adrian,
Oh sure I understand. Yes, I agree the best methods are the free methods for newbies.
Paid advertising has a large learning curve to it and needs to be given full study in order to be effective.
Perry Marshall seems to have courses on effective google advertising, have you heard of him?
Cheers!
Dom
I am the CEO of one of the biggest ezine advertising networks and this network includes more sites. At least one of these sites is on Google’s, Yahoo’s and MSN’s first page for all the major keywords from ezine advertising field. So … why should I be interested in PPC?
I’m not pretending that I’m an SEO expert, but the results talk themselves and they “told” me that I really don’t need any PPC
Hi Adrian,
You seem to be there mate, fair play to you. For somebody like me online for a number of years who is still struggling to market my sites, what would you suggest? I write articles weekly and submit them to the various ezines and submission sites.. can you offer me any advice?
Cheers!
Dominic
When it comes to articles, my advice is not to waste your time submitting your articles to a lof of directories. Why? When it comes to traffic, EzineArticles.com is number one and there is no one on places from 2 to 10.
I also recommend you to learn SEO. The problem is that there are too many fake experts out there. Learn and test what you learned, then keep learning and testing. Testing is actually the key in any type of advertising.
Ezine advertising is also an option, but you have to take care and advertise only in ezines that have a topic related to what you want to promote. Ezine advertising is not very easy and in addition you need to take care because there is a jungle out there … If you don’t take care you can buy ad space in ezines no longer published, and so on.
As a matter of fact, any type of advertising works but you have to know how it works and you also need to know that world. Otherwise, there are fake experts and amateurs everywhere.
Adrian
Hey listen,
Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it!
Dominic
Don’t mention it
Best wishes,
Adrian
You may want to check also this article: http://ezinearticles.com/?Spin-Success—Scam-Or-Not?–You-Decide&id=1435230
The conclusion from that article is this one: “My advice is that if you are running an affiliate website with out your OWN page stay away from it.”
Hope this helps!
George
I am so glad I came across this. Yes, I am another who was considering joining SS. I do not have money to waste, if it is so good, why can we not all have a free trial and see that it does actually work?
I noticed no-one mentioned the fact that they state a number of times that they only sign up 50 people at a time,
Quote “We only take on 50 new clients at a time to be 100% certain that proper attention is given to each of our valued clients – so act fast to make sure you are one of them!”
then later in the spiel it says you can introduce others and receive an affiliate income.
Quote “Earn recurring monthly commissions! As a SpinSuccess Member you will be invited to join one of the most profitable programs on the Internet. Everyone wants website traffic! Now when you introduce others to SpinSuccess and they join, you get paid! There is no limit how much you can earn! In fact, you can learn some new and creative ways to recruit your own affiliates using your SpinSuccess traffic!”
How can thousands of people be affiliates for a company that only takes on 50 at a time!?!
That plus what everybody else said; I think I smell a rat!!!
If all these marketing sites are so good why don’t they offer a free trial, then people could earn there advertising money. I’d quite happily pay 2 months advertising in month 2 if it all went to plan in month 1.
hi I just wanted to say thank you for all the comments about spinsuccess I am/was looking for a way to advertise my website and i thought i came across the solution at Spin Success but apparently not. I learned to keep reasearching before i get involved being i have been scammed several times in the past Just which there was a legit company that actually delivers target traffic to my website If anyone has any info I would appreiate it thank you
I would advise anyone using the SpinSuccess services to do some research on the successes of others and see what they come up with. The only positive statement above comes from on of the aliases in these comments, and that is Rosalind Archer. I receive emails from this person all the time stating they have gotten 10′s
and 20 signups from a program that has just launched days ago. But yet it takes weeks for the search engine submissions to take place on a submitted website. This Just Doesn’t add up. Be wise people.
Well I havent been marketing online for very long at all. basicly its all trial and error that being said I spend countless hours in front of this computer placing ads advertising, whatever I can think of. Bottom line is, it takes money to make money if you pay 20 bucks for a service thats exactly what your gonna get 20 bucks worth of service. If you can afford to spend thousands on marketing then chances are your not gonna get duped by fly by night, take your money and run, promise you the world, internet bullcrap.I just wish that before i got tied up in this sombody would have warned me about all the complete bull^%&$ what was about to hit my inbox!
Oh sure I understand. Yes, I agree the best methods are the free methods for newbies.
I am so glad that I found this site. My son & I have signed up for GDI and are having trouble getting sign ups. I have heard for months about how great ss is. Being on low income I wanted to be sure to do my due diligence and I am so glad that I did.
A good article that gives a good picture of the SpinSuccess services . After I went through the website claims , I wanted to check the credibility and stumbled upon this review. Thanks.
PLEASE GUYS SHUT THIS SITE DOWN? REPORT IT TO THE AUTHORITIES!!!!
I WAS BEING REFERRED BY THIS SITE: http://www.affiliatecurve.com.
PLEASE REPORT ALSO AFFILIATE CURVE!
I almost so the payment until I read the post here. THANKS!
Hi everyone,
Wow. I think I really got scam again man…. I sign up with SS since May 2008 and now its Aug. It’s already been 4 months and sadly I even got retrenched from my job these few months. I keep writing to the SS to say that it’s already been 4 months. And not even one single sale they gave me. I notice since May i got a total of 1000 hits from Sinsuccess and not even a single sale. Now this really seems very funny for me actually. Cause earlier this year. Almost everyday I’ve sent my advertising ad to some major blogs and forums in the net everyday. And I can say, the slowest that I can get a signup that will get me a commision of $98 per sale is within one month. And if its lower, it’s only one or two weeks if I submit it everyday without fail…
For the email marketing websites that I sign up. It was even better and was really not as what I have expected. Sales can get even everyday after submitting it. But all I can say for you guys out there who is a newbies. Nothing will come if you do nothing. LIke me now, I found a new job, which requires me to do a lot of work and no time for my online advertising. Sales have been going down for me. But I learn my lesson very well in this. …… Laziness will not bring you money just by resting on the sofa or watching tv doing nothing. Why not watching tv and sitting down with your laptop on your lap or while watching the tv (like what I’m doing now) to blast your ad….
Thanks guys for this posting…..I got to quickly cancel my SS membership now and not wasting any more money anymore…
Cheers……..Have a nice day!!
