Bukisa Review - Just Another No-No Business Model

A few months ago I joined Bukisa and since that moment I posted some articles on their website. Not for the amount of AdSense money they share (peanuts), not for traffic (close to zero if I compare them with EzineArticles) or SEO but … very sad … for saving my time. (I wasted too much time dealing with copyright infringements sent to article directories that are not very professional and accept articles submitted by content thieves - see just an example here: Beware of Ezine Articles Thieves)

Everything was fine till yesterday when I discovered that 2 days ago they approved and published the last article I submitted but … guess what … they removed my resource box! They didn’t bother to notify me and ask for my agreement …

I contacted them by Twitter … no reply.

I used their contact form and very quickly I got an answer, an amazing answer:

We apologize for not letting you know after it was done. We do not allow Resource Boxes. Your information must only be on your profile.

I said to myself, “Whaaat?” and I replied to that guy asking him to remove my article from that site because they do NOT have my permission to publish it without a resource box. No answer, no action. The guy replied to my first message and then disappeared.

I tried to delete the article while logged into my account. Not possible even if in theory there is a button there for such action …

    Then …

I checked once again my previous approved articles. All of them had the resource boxes in place. Then I read once again the Terms of Use. Nothing about that weird and new rule. Then I checked other articles approved yesterday (one day AFTER my article was posted) but belonging to other authors. Guess what? Very quickly I found out an article that has one promotional link inside the body of the article and it has also a resource box.

Well … since that moment I sent more emails to the Customers Support. No one ever responded, no one added back my resource box, no one deleted my article. Nothing.

I tried once again via Twitter and their contact form. I pointed to Bukisa staff other articles APPROVED by them recently including the article mentioned above and published on June 25 (the article that has a nice resource box at its bottom). I asked them once again to REMOVE my article from their site because they don’t have my permission to publish it without a resource box.

While my article is not yet removed, the sole new answer I received was via Twitter - just another dumb reply:

Bukisa isn’t an article directory, thus we don’t allow “resource boxes” however the removal without your knowledge was a mistake” ( https://twitter.com/bukisa/status/2333169719 )

They are very professional, aren’t they? Who cares if Bukisa is an article directory or not? No one. The point is that they infringed my copyright while in the same time do NOT want to correct their mistake by removing the article from their site…

Finally, what is the difference between Bukisa and a CONTENT THIEF who removes your resource box and then posts your article on his blog? In both cases, they had permission to post your article including your resource box. In both cases, they didn’t care about your copyright. Hmmm, it seems that there is no difference … Bravo, Bukisa! Keep doing your “great” job!

P.S. Oops, in fact there is a difference between content thieves and Bukisa: most of the content thieves remove your article from their sites after they receive your copyright infringement notice (not because they are honest, they aren’t, but because they are afraid of complaints sent to their host).

By the way, if BUKISA updates their Terms of Use and really starts to apply the “no resource box” rule, then the content thieves will be very happy. They no longer need to steal content and remove resource boxes. They are safe by copying the articles directly from BUKISA. Once again, bravo Bukisa!

Update: Finally, after 48 hours of wasting my time with their POOR services & customers support, my article is removed from Bukisa. I even received a very funny email from one of Bukisa’s co-founders: “Some of the thing your are writing are correct, but I feel that nothing I will say will change the ‘attack’ you have taken out on me and our site.”

Isn’t this funny? They attackig themselves from inside by providing lousy services but they feel attacked! Well, the truth is that the guilty faced with the truth is always feeling himself “attacked” :-)

And then … “We don’t give out follow links in articles, we don’t allow promotional articles, refarral links, resource boxes….” Suuuure! The articles posted on their site prove something else. But at Bukisa the truth doesn’t have any value …

Of course they are accusing you of attacking them. Don’t you know - “the best form of defense is attack” :-)

This is just weird. Why would they allow the box on some articles and delete it from others? It just doesn’t make sense. There’s nothing worse than incompetent emplyees (from PR point of view at least).

One more update: Bukisa banned my IP so that I cannot access their website. Aren’t they funny? Only someone living in a cave can do this … Didn’t Bukisa “professional” staff hear by now that you can always use a proxy in such case and still visit the website? It seems that Bukisa is trying very hard to prove to anyone that it is a No-No business model… They succeeded! Well done, Bukisa, what’s next?
