    Solo Ads and Aliens

Most probably you’re wondering what is the connection between solo ads and aliens. I’ve been in your shoes too until I found the SECRET …

One day I was sitting in front of my computer and being a little bit tired, I said to myself, “Let’s take a break and read some solo ads in order to see what’s new online.” And I started to read …

Tens of thousands of dollars within weeks, millions of dollars within a few years, systems that work for everyone, all legal. In the first instance I wanted to call my local unemployment office and tell them the good news: the global economic crisis is over, a lot of people found the solution to make us all rich. A busy tone suggested to me that the people at that office are still working and I’m not the only one who is not a millionaire yet… Hmm, strange! Am I the only one who read the news? Something doesn’t match here…

Then I read more … Systems that never failed, ways of making money without selling anything and without having any experience, more and more surprises … I must be living in a cave … the world changed so fast and I’m the last one who found out that all the money worries are over! Am I that dumb?

Being quite shocked, I insisted and read even more ads until my eyes stopped on a message that appeared to be coming from another millionaire, but … Hey, stop for a moment, I know very well that person. Yesterday she wrote to me that she cannot afford to pay for a medium priced ezine advertising package I sell and she asked for a discount. Was she so greedy or there is
    another explanation?

Then I started to THINK (and it didn’t hurt me!) … Systems that never failed? Well, almost any human being knows that there is nothing perfect. Systems that work for everyone? Almost any human being knows that we, the human beings, are different… No experience required to do something that gets you tons of money? Yeah, suure! Actually any intelligent human being knows that all these promises … cannot be true, here on Planet Earth …

And suddenly I understood the truth and I was scared … human beings know very well the world they are living in, don’t they? They must be ALIENS those creatures that sent me those solo advertisements … I’m really scared and I don’t know if I’ll dare so soon to read the solo ads I receive …

Beware of these aliens and open your eyes! They are dangerous if you don’t take care …

To Your Success, Whatever You Do!
    Adrian Jock

P.S. Despite this shocking experience, I still publish my newsletter where I preach the do’s and don’ts of ezine advertising for the few human beings that are still hanging around. Recently I published for them one of the few ebooks on solo ads … Of course aliens didn’t like it and ran away quickly when they smelled it … Too bad for them! Some ezine advertisers liked it very much though … Ultimate Guide to Solo Ads

Safelists & Traffic Exchanges: Stop Wasting Your Time Or …

I won’t talk too much about automatic traffic exchanges or safelists that are not credit based. They are simply a waste of time. Why?

Automatic traffic exchanges – the user can let his computer surf the websites while he is watching his favorite movie. If you expect a computer to buy something from you or signup for your newsletter, no offense but … there must be something wrong with you.

Safelists that are not credit based – the users receive tons of emails, they don’t have any obligation to do anything (like opening the emails) and the most important fact is that they joined the safelists in order to send their own ads, not to read your ads, buy your stuff, or learn something.

Now let’s discuss about credit based safelists and manual traffic exchanges. They are definitely not the very best option when you want to advertise something, but they work … if you know how.

The major mistake the users of these safelists and traffic exchanges make is that they are like trying to sell a luxury car to a homeless. There is nothing wrong in selling luxury cars. Its’ not a crime to be a homeless. However, trying to sell a luxury car to a homeless is a waste of time and a naive attempt. I guess you didn’t get my point yet, did you?

Let’s focus a little bit, be honest and respond to this question: who are the users of the safelists and the traffic exchanges? The largest part of these users can be matched to one of the following categories: freebie hunters, people who cannot afford to invest in a better but paid form of advertising or people who are not willing to pay for advertising. What’s the common point for all of them? They are not typical buyers (remember this because it’s very important). For avoidance of any doubt, the same like no one is to be blamed because of driving a Toyota instead of a Rolls Royce, the same these users don’t have to be blamed because they are not typical buyers.

Now comes the problem, not theirs but yours: if they are not typical buyers but freebie hunters why don’t you take into consideration their willing and try to sell them your stuff? Are you looking for failure? If you don’t take into consideration your prospect, you cannot succeed. If it is very likely that your prospect is a type of person not willing or not affording to invest money so quickly, then offer her or him something free and you have bigger chances to succeed. I hope you won’t ask me what you get if you offer something free … But if you do it, here is my answer: give something free in exchange of subscribing to your newsletter. Then via your newsletter, keep in touch with that prospect and offer valuable information & stuff, both free and paid. Maybe they won’t buy anything tomorrow. Maybe not next week. But … maybe next month is that month when your goal will be
    accomplished.

If you’re patient, you can succeed with these types of free advertising. If you try to sell something during the seconds when the prospects are visiting your website then … you have very big chances to fail. You know why? The visitor clicked on your link because she or he wants credits, not because she or he is interested in your website. Such visitors are “visiting” tens or even hundreds of pages, one after another… Don’t expect them to actually read all the pages and buy something. It’s absurd to believe this …

Conclusion: stop wasting your time or learn how to properly use the traffic exchanges and the safelists.

    To Your Success,
    Adrian Jock

P.S. I dedicate this article to some of my affiliates who are trying to sell my recent ebook Ultimate Guide to Solo Ads by promoting it via safelists and traffic exchanges. A lot of traffic was wasted and their result was a big fat zero, while other affiliates sent a much lower amount of traffic but still got sales. I wish I would be able to show them my website log in order to see how all their traffic bounced (visitors closing the browser’s window within seconds, without reading anything). So many resources and so much time wasted for nothing …

Prerequisite Steps for a Successful Ezine Advertising Campaign

Simplistically speaking, it’s easy to establish what the target of an ezine advertising campaign is: success. It’s understandable, no one plans to fail. But are you ready to succeed?

The first step is to get rid of illusions like ezine advertising is a 1-2-3 simple path: copy an ad, buy ad space in an ezine recommended by a person you didn’t know a few hours or days ago and then sit & wait for profits to come.

No, ten thousands times, no! Successful advertising is not something that is done “in the meantime” and it involves work.

In the offline world, your usual world, why do you think there are advertising agencies and marketing divisions or departments? The online world is not very much different. You can advertise or you can play a 10-minute copycat game. If you want to have fun while throwing away money, it’s OK – play that game, but don’t call it advertising … If you don’t plan to play that game but your intention is to really advertise in ezines, then follow carefully some prerequisite steps:

    1. Make sure that the product (or service) you plan to promote is actually worth promoting.

Think sometimes like a buyer of that product and sometimes like a marketer and respond to some questions … Would you buy that product? Does that product help the potential buyer in any way, or improve her/his life? Is the product not over priced? Is there market for such product? Isn’t the market oversaturated by similar products?

    2. Make sure that you have an appropriate landing page.

Now respond to another set of questions … Is the landing page easy to read? Does it offer enough information about your product (without being boring)? Doesn’t it somehow scream hype or “I’m lying to you but I hope you’re stupid enough and you won’t notice”? Doesn’t it contain useless info or distracting ads and banners? Is it easy to order? Isn’t the prospect required to reveal too many (and useless for you) private information? Are there multiple payments options, so that everyone is able to pay?

    3. Make sure that you have a good ad copy.

Did you spell check it? Does it have an attention grabbing headline? Did you check the text of the ad in order to be sure that it doesn’t contain words or expressions penalized by spam filters? Didn’t you forget to use an ad tracker? Are you sure that the link works? Did you check the domain name from the link in order to be sure that it isn’t blacklisted? Did you test your ezine ad?

    4. Take care what ezine you choose to publish your ezine ad.

Is the ezine in the same niche like the product you plan to promote? When you searched the web, did you find negative reviews about that ezine or its publisher? Did you subscribe to that ezine? Is it regularly published? Does it offer quality content so that subscribers actually read it? Doesn’t contain too many ads? Did the publisher promptly respond to your questions?

    * * *

I’ll stop here because I hope that you already got it: ezine advertising means work if you want to succeed. Now you have three options: forget about it and watch your favorite movie, keep doing that 1-2-3 simple path and then blame the ezines for your failure, or … be serious, take action and succeed!
